The EWNHS has embarked upon this project since January 2005 with the financial support from The Christensen Fund, a private, independent foundation dedicated to assisting organizations in the visual arts, conservation science and education. During the years 2005 and 2006 a comprehensive list of 544 sacred sites in Bonkie, Boroda, Chencha, and Dita have been collected and reports on status of sacred sites and beliefs around the sacred sites were produced. Of these sacred sites, 250 were sacred relict forests that are used as a refugia for rare, threatened and endemic plant species |
